Did you know? Mountain goats have cloven hooves with two toes that spread wide to improve balance. They can easily balance all four feet in a 6×2 inch square space! Rough pads on the bottom of each toe provide the grip of a natural climbing shoe. Mountain goats are powerful but nimble and can jump nearly 12 feet in a single bound.
The Patagonia Store in Lionshead, CO has teamed up with Walking Mountains Science Center as part of their advocate weeks program. Between June 19 and July 2, Patagonia will donate $10 from each shoe sale in the store to Walking Mountains Science Center. As part of this promotion we are highlighting a shoe a day for two weeks along with animal foot trivia on the blog.
