Full Day Mushrooming Foray and Gourmet Mushroom Dinner
Discover some of the most coveted mushrooming sites in and around the Vail Valley in the company of two guides from Walking Mountains as well as long time professional Ellen Jacobson on this day-long foraying adventure on August 31, 2011. Mushrooming in the Rockies is a thrill for those who know what to look for and where to look.
During this day of exploration and learning, you will soon be able to recognize at least 5 favorite mushrooms that, if the season is favorable and the location right, can be bountiful. Look for chanterelles, king boletus, hawk’s wings and many others.
This one of a kind, custom adventure includes a delicious picnic lunch and following the foray, a festive evening at the Lake Creek home of Holly and Buck Elliott, with wine and delectable mushroom themed dishes, reflecting the variety of ways your newly honed skills in foraying can be transferred into culinary delights. Recipes included.
As of 8/8/11, we have only 5 spots left at this event. Please contact Natalia Hanks at (970) 827-9725 x130 for more information.
Cost: $250, includes introductory indoor lesson, morning foraying, lunch, afternoon foraying, staff and professional guide, cocktails, dinner, wine and recipes.
Not included: transportation.
